Project Description
»Pfeffer« Riesling Kabinett
The “Pfeffer” designation refers to one of the original residents of Stetten, Johann David Pfeffer. Born into abject poverty in 1769, he was the youngest of 14 children. Once asked by his teacher which was the smallest of rivers (‘Fluss’ in German), little David answered: “Der Überfluss” (literally: ‘Excess’). He later made a name for himself as a fiddle-playing musician and bard, amusing the local lords with his antics.
Karl Haidle himself introduced this perpetual classic with its balanced natural sweetness and vibrant acidity into the wine program. A true representative of Riesling from Stetten.
