Project Description

Stettener Häder Riesling

Back
Stettener Pulvermächer Riesling Trocken Erste Lage | Weingut Karl Haidle

The grapes in this east-facing vineyard grow in extremely nutrient rich soils such as gypsum keuper and colored marl. Only the morning sun ever reaches this site, promoting a cool microclimate and thus late ripening dates.

Following a long spontaneous fermentation, the wine sits for the better part of a year on the gross lees, some in the estate’s oldest barrels (70+ years, dating back to Karl Haidle himself).

These collected factors ultimately give the Riesling from the Stettener Häder a concentrated style marked by aromas of ripe banana and yellow pear. These are laced with a fine minerality and a balanced, pleasantly mild acidity.

An exceptional single vineyard Riesling with a beautiful texture and charming elegance.
